  About

The Canvas Project is a community-driven arts initiative focused on increasing access to creative expression and supporting artists at all stages of their journeys. Founded on the belief that art can transform spaces, spark conversation, and foster belonging, the project was born from a desire to make creativity more accessible, especially for people with disabilities, and to use art as a meaningful way to support mental health and bring people together.

Through collaborative creation and exhibition, The Canvas Project provides opportunities for artists to share their work beyond traditional gallery environments, helping remove barriers to participation while celebrating the diversity of voices within the community. A core part of the initiative is creating for a cause, with a commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people living with disabilities through connection, creativity, and inclusion.

About the Founder: Lee Samuel is the founder and driving force behind The Canvas Project. Guided by a strong belief that creativity should be accessible to everyone, Lee has shaped the initiative into a meaningful platform that connects artists, supports participation, and strengthens community relationships. Through passion, leadership, and a commitment to inclusion, Lee continues to champion the power of the arts to bring people together while supporting causes that matter, particularly the mental health and wellbeing of those living with disabilities.
